Gerard Rosa, Linda Laurent, Julie Ribchinsky History
The members of THE CONNECTICUT TRIO (Gerard Rosa, violin; Julie Ribchinsky, cello, Linda Laurent, piano), in residence at Central Connecticut State University, have performed extensively in the United States, Europe, and in New York, at Weill Hall, the Kosciuszko Foundation, Wave Hill, the 92nd Street Y, and on National Public Radio. Ardent proponents of contemporary music, the ensemble has performed works of Krzysztof Penderecki and Ezra Laderman in the composers' presence. Mr. Laderman's second piano trio, written in 1995 for the Connecticut Trio, was given its New York premiere at the Landon Gallery. Of that concert, critic Dennis Rooney in Strad magazine (January 1999) also commented on the "wonderfully played Arensky Trio whose exceptional beauty was fully realized by the players' outstanding teamwork" .
