Regular Class Meetings: Mondays/Wednesdays 5:00 – 6:30 P.M.Regular Class Location: HW 019.000

Course Description/Prerequisite, Academic Credit, and Music Major Information

Prereq.: Permission of instructor through audition. Open to all students who play band instruments. Various types of literature performed. May be repeated for credit with different content. Mode 4. One credit.

Required Supplies

Instruments, pencils, and concert attire are required. For concerts, females will wear long black dresses; males will wear black tuxedo jackets and trousers, white shirts, black socks, and black bow ties. All performers will wear black shoes.

Philosophy of Instruction

Class meetings consist of a rehearsal format leading to concerts during the semester. As time permits, musicians will learn about the compositional, stylistic, and historical aspects of the wind-band repertoire from the viewpoint of the performer.
